Eighties Hair Don’t Care

The day after driving 16 hours back from Florida Mr. C. and I hopped back in the car and headed to the Canopy Club in Chambana to see Shovels & Rope, an alt-countryish group that’s been on my live show radar for awhile now.  When I found out they were playing a small venue within easy driving distance, I did one of those girly inner squeal things.  Not an outer squeal – I was raised Lutheran.  Inner squeal.

So my review of the show: Michael Trent and Cary Ann Hearst are the cat’s pajamas.  Their on-stage dynamic was so fun to watch.  One of my favorite things ever is to watch people make good music when it’s obvious from watching them that they love what they are doing.  I’m thinking they are not Lutheran.  Just a guess.

And man, she’s got some pipes.
