I read a lot when I was a kid. When I was really young it was the Laura Ingalls Wilder series. I don’t remember how many times I read those through. Then Anne of Green Gables, of course and also Emily of New Moon (which I secretly liked better). When jr. high and high school came around there was less time for leisure reading, but I still managed to do quite a bit – usually late at night when I should have been sleeping, making for some close calls with the school bus in the morning (and some misses, if I’m being honest). So when Alexis had the idea of a book-themed portrait session, I totally understood. I arrived at her house and saw that she had a few of her favorite books picked out. Some I had read. Some of the newer young adult titles I hadn’t heard of. I asked if she could bring a few more, just for fun. How many more? As many as you’ve got! She went back up to her room and returned with one of those over-sized duffle bags – you know, the ones that are for like, sports equipment or something – full of books. And this obviously didn’t even include what she has on her Kindle. Atta girl!
